Find Joy Every Day...

Here is a new project I made for Fleurette Bloom. I had this in my mind for some time, and couldn't get it to come together. I used paper and svg files from Fleurette bloom and the frame is from Lori Whitlock.

I knew I wanted to use birch paper for the background...I love that with cardinals! Found some in my Jessica Sprague stash. Then I filled the top frame layer with some digi paper from Fleurette Bloom. The frame is a Lori Whitlock file from Silhouette Studio. It's her shadow box, but all I did was cut the top 8 times to get a nice thick frame that feels like chipboard. Then I glued that down to the birch paper.

I cut the cardinal in two sizes and assembled. I cut one after flipping it to face the other direction. I cut the branches 3 times so it was thicker as well. I inked the edges a bit and added a gem for the eyes.

I found a flower I liked in the Japanese Garden collection. I sized them down a bit so they would fit my frame better. I used several patterns from all different papers I have. I didn't have enough of just one, so I set out to find all I had in these colors. They all blended really good. Then I took out some Distress Inks and applied ink to all the pieces. I then got out a script stamp I have from My Creative Time, and stamped that on all. I misted them with water and crinkled them all up. I used my hot glue to assemble and added a gem in the centers. Then I went back over just the edges with a bit more Distress Ink. I like how they came out.

For the sentiment, I found something in the Silhouette Store I liked. This is going to someone who might need this reminder when feeling down. I cut one in the same teal colored paper and one in gray. I used Distress Ink again on the teal and added some darker gray to the shadow piece. I just simply offset them a bit when gluing together. I added tiny seed pearls around for added interest.

Here's some pics for a better look at the flowers.

And here's the other one.

I'm really happy with the way the flowers look. I like the inking and the subtle script stamping. The crinkling adds to the distressed look and the pearl finished off the center. The leaves are from the same collection.

Well, that's about it. I have a ribbon that I hot glued to the back for her to hang if she'd like. Or it can easily just sit like this too.

Here is where you can find what I used on this project.

Happy Crafting!
