And once again, Miss Emma has knocked it out of the park! She never ceases to amaze, and I'm beginning to see why she says each release is her favorite...they are all my favorite too! 

Today I have made a card for you...fall themed! My favorite time of the year. 

I had watched a video the other day on YouTube of making a window card. So, I set about looking at my dies to see how I could make it work. Here's my card.

I needed square dies and didn't think I had one...till I spotted the embossed envelope die. I used it long ways to create three windows at the top of the card. I then backed it with acetate to really look like windows, and added dimensional adhesive to the back to raise it up. 

I then picked fall papers and die cut the smallest two layers of the flower dies (all will be listed at the end of this post). I also die cut the leaves. I glued them together, positioned where I liked them, and added a pearl to the center. I cut two narrow strips of paper, punched one with a scalloped punch, and added under the window to create a window sill. I die cut two of the bottom layer of the ticket dies, stamped the frame, the sentiment, and a leaf.  I wrapped some twine around the card and tied a bow. Then I added the tag with some dimensionals. 

I then finished off the inside of the card with a bit of the patterned papers from the front. 

I hope you like my card for you today. I was happy with how it came out. You can usually find something you have, to re create your inspiration piece. In my case, I needed and found something to cut the windows.  Here's a list of what I used.

Insider Card Class...

Here's my card for the first assignment.

I had made this card earlier, and our assignment was to finish off the inside as well as the outside. So I did one of the pop up tutorials they shared with us. I popped up a pumpkin. I'm really enjoying this class and look forward to others in the future!

And here is the inside.

Hard to see from this angle, but the pumpkin is popped up about a 1/4 inch or so. This is a trick I am certain I will use often!

Yummy Treats....

Today is 3D Wednesday at My Creative Time. We wanted to make Rice Krispy Treats for the kids, so I used this as an opportunity to make them a bit different. I have found some cute sucker sticks at Jo Ann the other day and figured I could do something with them. So, we made our treats into balls, put the stick in them, and then decorated them with cute Halloween goodies. Here is what we did.

I also had found a pad of cork, sticky back paper and hoped they would cut with our dies. And well....it does! So, I cut some with a few different label dies and used a bit of cork on each tag. And you can also stamp on it nicely! Love this stuff. I put the treat down into a goody bag and attached each tag with twine.

 For this one, we rolled it in fun bright colored bits...love those colors! I cut the tag in cork, and cut again with patterned paper for the center. Tied it on with Trendy Twine.

This tag is also cork, then found some creepy patterned paper for the stamp, and used the dies from the Build A Banner to put it all together. Again, used Trendy Twine. This treat is rolled in orange, yellow, and white sprinkles.

For this tag, I reversed from the first one. I used the cork in the center and stamped on it. Works great! Used the mixed twine of lime, purple, and white...from Trendy Twine. The Krispy treat is rolled in orange sugar. I hope the kids have fun eating these! If not...I know my daughter and I will, lol.

Next time you have to make some treats, see if you can be creative a bit, and make them a different way. I'm sure these won't hang around too long...one of our fave treats! I hope the kids like them too!

When the ideas come, you just go with it...lol! I got my card kit from Simon Says Stamp this weekend and the colors and patterns of the paper are AWESOME!!! My fave color pallet no matter the season.  I looked over the inspiration sheet included, and saw one shape that caught my eye. So, I took that and went with it and did my own thing. This is what came out.

I had a square punch and used that to cut several of a few different patterns. Then I used my corner chomper and rounded two opposite corners...that's the shape I saw. I lined them up into a pattern I was happy with...on that awesome wood grain textured paper in the kit. I chose two...the blue paper...and used dimensionals under those. I wanted interest and not all just flat. I inked the edges a bit as well. 

Then I used a die from My Creative Time and cut the banner shape. Chose a sentiment I liked, stamped it in Potting Soil ink from Ranger's Archival collection. I also added it with dimensional adhesive. To finish it off, I chose several of the sequins included in the kit. I really like how this card turned out.

So...find a single item or image that inspires you, and try to come up with your own creation using that inspiration. We all get ideas from somewhere, the key though...is not to copy, but turn that inspiration into your own creation that's all your own. Happy Crafting!

A cute little card this Saturday morning. Fall is in the air and I LOVE it!!! Not to mention Halloween is coming up. Need a few cards to send out. Here's the one I made today.

I was at Jo Ann's this morning and found this super cute 6x6 pad of paper. Love it! It's like chalkboard background and super cool shades of oranges and purples...so cute! So I just let the paper speak for itself and only added a band and some buttons.

I used the Lollipop die and cut two. Matched them up in the center then trimmed off the excess. I added the Scallop & Stitched Circle Dies. I cut the adorable ghost out of that fantastic glitter paper I found at Jo Ann's. I wish I could capture the amount of sparkle it has, but it just doesn't do justice. You need to see it in real life. I used dimensionals for added interest. 

And....those adorable stitched button dies! Love them so much. They add just that little extra to any project. Just tied a bit of cording and used glossy accents to adhere. Finished off with some black gel pen stitching and calling this one done!

Hello Fall...

Today I went up into my craft room, and decided to play a bit with some of the new inks I've acquired in the last while. I also have these very swirly stamps from Inkadinkado that are very fall in design. So...I put the two together and this is want happened. I also mixed a few different colors of mica powders to make my own shimmer mists.

So...I randomly stamped the different leaves with several colors of ink. No rhyme or reason, just where ever I felt like it. Most all the background stamps are from that Inkadinkado set, but a few are from the card kit from Simon Says Stamp this last month. The littlest ones. 

Then I got the shimmer mists out and sprayed it a bit. Love how it turned out! I die cut my leaves and misted those too.  It is so shimmery and pretty. Screams Fall to me!

I took some twine and wrapped several times vertically around the card and tied a bow. I put on the sentiment with dimensional adhesive for added interest. 

 

Here is how I finished off the inside of the card. White cardstock, two tiny leaf stamps, and misted with shimmer mists. I love Fall and I'm rather happy with the look I achieved with the stamped background and the shimmer.

3D Wednesday...

Today is 3D Wednesday over at My Creative Time and I have jazzed up a clear acetate box, filled it with candy, and made a cute tag for the front.

I printed some digi papers here at home and used My Creative Time dies to cut these cute images. I went through my paper scraps to find some nice fall patterns that went well together. LOVE FALL!!!

Anyway, these are the ones I chose. To make that cute pumpkin, I used three of the Easter egg dies and layered them together using dimensional adhesive for the center front piece. The stem was made using one of the banner dies....I'll have all the sets listed at the end of this post. 

I inked up the edges and used a bit of white gel pen to accent. That AMAZING glitter paper is by American Crafts and I got it at Jo-Ann's. This stuff is amazing...DOES NOT FLAKE OFF!!! And no mess of glue and glitter all over the place. It is soooo super smooth, doesn't even feel like glitter but boy oh boy, does it ever sparkle! I also used one of the stamps from the new release to stamp on the clouds...I like it! For the sentiment, it was one long stamp so I masked off half...stamped, masked off the other half and stamped again below the first. I didn't want it that long.

This pic gives a better look at the box filled with candy corn and peanuts. I got them once on Pick You Plum. There were three different styles. I used Scor Tape to attach the tag to the box. I also cut three layers for my tag cause I wanted it more like chipboard...nice and thick.

So, there it is. Now, for the sets I used to create this goodie box.

There you have it....pick out what you have and come up with a cute treat box of your own. You don't always need the newest to make some super cute things. New is nice, but not always necessary to make your take on someone else's project. Happy Crafting!!!

 

Hey there everyone. A quick card here using digital papers and elements from Fleurette Bloom and Trendy Twine. We have teamed up for the month using products from each other. I designed a fall themed card and I hope you like it.

I used the Tranquil Tree, Fall Leaves digital papers, and the Little Critters Kit. 

In my Silhouette Software, I filled my layers with patterned paper. I also filled the tree with a digital paper I found in my stash. I needed a good green, and this one just worked. I cut out the squirrel and a shadow layer using print/cut. I added all the elements using dimensional adhesive for added interest. 

Then....using your imagination...you can see all my fall leaves using Trendy Twine, tied knots, and just glued in place with liquid adhesive. It's outside the box, but I think it works. The sentiment is from My Creative Time.

DT Color Challenge...

It is my turn over at MCT to do the design challenge. As Autumn is my FAVE season, and FAVE colors, that is what I went with. For this months challenge, you can make anything you want, just follow the color palette.

Here is an image I found with the colors of fall that I just love. Use any or all colors in this example. 

Ahhhh!!!! I love this and cannot wait till Autumn arrives. Here is what I made for you. The colors may not be EXACT....but close enough that it fits. I even used wood grain paper!

Here's my cute little owl...but wait...it might not be what you think....

 

It's an easel card! I love this style cause who ever gets it, can display it nicely and leave it out for awhile. I love how the owl sits nicely on that doily die! Gotta love that die! I got this image

 in the Silhouette store.To make the tag for my sentiment I cut it twice, once in white, once in teal. I cut the teal one in half vertically. Then trimmed off the bits that would show when layered. I attached it at each end of the white layer to give a shadow look.

I created another layer for the wings in the Silhouette software and added with dimensionals. Hard to tell but the eyes are faceted gems put on with my i-rock by Imaginisce.  I then tied some twine onto a button and added it with a dimensional and glossy accents cause I didn't want it to come off! It is what holds the card open. I sized the card just wide enough for the width of the doily die. Then I put it just on the edge of the card at the center point of the die, and only cut it half way. If you leave the rest of the card hang over your cutting plate it won't cut. That's how I got just the edge cut like a doily. Then I cut another full doily and layered exactly on top using dimensionals.

I took this photo to show you that I added some of the patterned paper on the underside too, as it shows when the card is open. All the papers I printed with digital files from Jessica Sprague. The pack is called Birds Of A Feather. Love it! See the scalloped edges? I saw one of the girls do this last week and wanted to do it too. It is just the edge of the Treat Slider Box! Genius! Thanks Glora!

Since the front is so pretty, I didn't want to take away from it with my note, so I created a panel on the back of the card for writing your message. I think it works out perfectly, matted by that awesome wood grain paper! I LOVE this wood grain. I have several but this one is just sooo warm!

Summer 2013...

Today is a scrapbooking day at My Creative Time. I wanted to get a two page PL layout done, but only  managed to get one. I love my Canon Selphy to just pick images from my phone, print out, and scrapbook. At least that part is easy. It just takes me a long time to do a page. I'm not one to have it all planned out, it morphs as I go, lol! Anyway, my two pages will be highlights of our summer. Here's what I got done today.

From top left going around to the right...we took the kids to the county fair. They loved some animals and hated others...lol. They even rode the ponies...shocker! Then, we took each baby to the local Dragon's baseball game. This was Karson's day. See his hat full of Dippin Dots? Then, another day we drove up to Columbus and our son and daughter in law came from Cleveland and we went to the Columbus Zoo. I packed a HUGE picnic of food and it was an amazing day. I miss seeing them very often. Don't ya love that beard?! Each baby took separate trips to the beach. Karson and his Mommy and Daddy went to Cleveland and went to Lake Erie with Bubs and Brittany. Aleida and her Mommy went up to Lake Michigan. And then lastly, Aleida watched movies in the park and Karson had breakfast at Cracker Barrel. I'll have another page of pics from fun times...we had a great summer!

I hope you are ready to see some amazing stuff!!! This is the best DT ever and I know you will get lots of great ideas to use these new products or new ways to use what you already have.

Here's what I made for you today. A simple card, but I think it's a fun one!

 Now...who wouldn't love a girls night out?! I know I would...and actually I think it's about time for one. Anyway, I used the Stitched Restroom Peeps Die and cut three of the ladies. I used dimensionals to attach to the tag die base. Love them! Then I cut three tiny strips of paper, each a bit shorter and glued to the tag right under the girls. Just a bit of interest to break up the elements a bit. For the stamp, I used the square piece that comes out when you cut the Stitched Mini Frame and Arrow die. I popped it up on dimensionals as well.

I love how this new stamp has a bit of a shadow line around the main words. It's those little touches that make Emma's stuff so special. For the bottom edge of the tag, I used glossy accents to attach my sequins. Such a cute look...love sequins! You can also see I did a simple sewing line around the mat layer under the tag. I also inked the edges a bit. The size of this card is 3x6. I'm having fun making some different sized cards lately...getting bored with A2! Plus, having the Envelope Punch Board, I can make about any size envelope I want and they will match my card! It is by We R Memory Keepers. A great tool to have!  

Here is the inside of my card. To make the bit at the top, I used one of the little decorative swirls and stamped them so they just touched at the sides and made a boxed area to stamp the invite. Then I simply used the stamp on the side to fill in all the details. A super cute way to invite your friends for any type of party or gathering. Inked the edges again and simply glued flat in place.

And a quick photo with the envelope I made with the Envelope Punch Board.

So...I just can't stop!!! I came up with a second card for you. I LOVE how this came out...hope you do too!

Isn't it cute!!! I love how this die looks like one of those room divider screens. I "hung" the dress on the door and set her purse at the bottom. 

To make the purse, I stamped the image and then fussy cut it by hand. Not easy! Then I cut a second waist band like on the dress, turned it around, glued it on the bottom of the purse. It's not a perfect fit, so the bits of the stamp that showed, I just trimmed off. I also cut to label dies and cut the black one in half. I trimmed off what showed and glued to each end of the top piece. I like that look of layering. I ran the blue piece through with an embossing folder for texture. Tied a bow and put dimensionals under for added depth. I also put on some shiny black gems. I hope you like this as much as I did!
