My Scrap Chick Digital Clipart...

Hi guys....My Scrap Chick has been releasing some new type of files. I have loved print/cut every since I got my very first Cameo! So I was excited when I saw they were adding this category to their store. So...this weekend I played a bit with a clipart image. I also have some digi stamps printed out, and have been coloring them with my Copic markers. See previous post. Anyway, on to this card.

I actually plugged in my Cricut Explore to print and cut these. It has been collecting dust, lol. Once cut, I wanted to give a "flat" image a bit of interest, so I got out a few Copic markers to add more intense shadowing/shading. I mainly worked on the bed. Then I added white gel dots, glitter brush, and some Glossy Accents.

It's so hard to tell, but I added Glossy Accents to the thermometer and to the glass on the night stand. I also stamped my sentiment in VersaMark ink and embossed with white embossing powder. This cute stamp is from My Creative Time. The lamp base has some glitter brushed on.

I wanted the bed to feel more forward so I put two layers of foam tape under it and also have it lower on the card front. The nightstand is on one layer and a bit higher up, hoping it gives the appearance of being farther back...like it's against the wall and the bed comes out farther into the room...like it would look in real.

For the inside of the card, I grabbed some of the same papers as on the front. I also used a couple more of the images from the set. For the bottle of medicine, I smooshed my VersaMark pad all over the front, masking off the cap. Then I poured clear embossing powder over it and melted it with my heat tool. I did it a second time to get it a bit thicker. Positioned it a bit behind the box of tissues. And, you still have plenty of space to write a little note.

These little print/cut images are so cute and so fun to play with. The one thing I would suggest, is add some of your own touches to them. Make them feel not so "flat". Add some extra shading, or gloss, or glitter, or gel dots....jazz them up a bit. Bring them to life!

I hope you got a bit of inspiration from my card and some ideas for using print/cut images. I plan to do more of these, so come back once in awhile and see what I've been up to. In the mean time, stop by My Scrap Chick and see what's new in the store!

Here's some links for you to get there.

Wishing You Sunshine...

So...My Scrap Chick has now started selling a line of digital stamps and digital clip art!!! I'm LOVING that....cause I love to do print/cut. And I'm investing into a small collection of Copic markers, and giving it a go. Lots of practice to do, lol. Anyway, I chose an image to work with today.

It is like -15 here in Ohio today and very, very windy! I needed it to feel like Spring. Now, I'm from Michigan and LOVE snow......we have very little :(.....but I HATE frigid temps! Had to do something to remind me of warmer temps to come.

I wanted this to be really bright and fun so chose markers in some hot colors!!! Now, I'm new at all this so it might not be the best coloring...I'll get better at it. I added Wink of Stella to the umbrella and the spots on the boots. Did a little bit of tiny dots to add texture. Nichol Magouirk does this a lot and I love it. Got out my white gel pen and added some stitching lines, too. Then threw on a few bright pink gems and ribbon.

Just so happened the these colors work really nice with some of Doodlebug's papers. I love them! So bright and fun. Used some of my dies to cut the layers, I like that stitching line.

I chose a stamp from My Creative Time and used my Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher to add a cute staple. The flags are from a set by Spellbinder. Added it with some foam squares.

So, there you have it! I hope you go to My Scrap Chick and check out the new stuff....super cute!

I hope it wasn't too early to tease you with a Spring card.....but it will be here before we know it!
Happy Crafting!

I Love You Camera Card....

Gosh....I'm a slacker!!! I haven't posted in so long...sorry bout that, lol. Anyway, I have a couple things going up today. Finishing up some pics and then I'll post the other in a bit.

I am working with some of the new files from Fleurette Bloom today. This last release has such cute images!!! I fell in love with the camera right away. And new what I wanted to do.

So, I picked out some of the patterns from the new digital paper collection and filled my images in using my Silhouette Studio software and then cut them out. I inked up the edges to add some interest.

Then I got out my circle dies and picked one the closest to the size of the center of the camera. The top layer already had a hole cut, so I put it in place over the second layer, used low tack tape, and ran it through my Cuttlebug. That layer is the same as the next one, so again I put the die right in place and cut the dark gray layer. And once again for the bottom layer.

I added my acetate to the back of the last layer, used foam tape to make the "well" for my sequins...two layers thick...put in my goodies and added another piece of acetate. This way everything is captured inside and you can easily flip it to attach to your card front.

I tied on my ribbon, used my tag dies and cut two. Chose my sentiments to stamp and added those with foam tape as well. Then jazzed up a bit with some Stickles glitter.

I hope you like this little shaker card using Fleurette's newest release. You need to check it out....super cute!
Here's where you can get yours.

I Only Have Eyes For You...

Here's a quick and easy treat bag I made using some files from My Scrap Chick. Hope you like!

I started out with just a simple bag and set about to decorate it up.

I love the scallop top on this little bag...it's so cute! Anyway, I picked a few digital papers and filled the image using my Silhouette Studio software, and then print and cut them out. I cut some layers of solid colors that coordinate and adhered them to the front of the bag.

I did the same with this cute little monster. I also created a shadow layer of different paper. Layered up using foam squares. To make his eyes, I just cut different size circles in white, black, and blue. Glued them together and then covered them in Glossy Accents for that shiny finish. Added a bit of white gel pen accents, tied some twine, and added a sentiment from my stash. Cut it out using an oval punch.

Hope you like...here's where you can get these files.

I'm sure you have a little monster in your life that would love a little bag of goodies!
Happy Crafting!
