Welcome! It's an exciting week over at InkOn3. It's time for a new release!!!

And to kick it off, we're having a blog hop! Guaranteed, you will see lots of beautiful projects. 

This new release features Hollyhocks 4x6 stamp set and coordinating Hollyhock dies.

How beautiful is this hollyhock stamp and die set??? It's just gorgeous, isn't it? And the sentiments and fonts are amazing. I know I'll reach for this often, even just for those. So, let's get started!

Here's what I created for today. Hope you get some inspiration.

I wanted the outside of my card to be plain Jane, you'll see why. I pulled out an old embossing folder that had a spot to stamp a sentiment. I trimmed it down and matted it with silver glitter cardstock. I stamped using Juicy embossing ink and backed it with the same silver. I foam mounted it and added a few silver gems.

Ready to see the inside? First, I get a lot of inspiration from YouTube crafters. Jennifer McGuire did a shadow box card awhile back and I loved it! So, kudos to her...I copied, lol.

This is the reason for a somewhat plain card front. I wanted it to "go with" the inside sentiment...are moments to remember. And hopefully they'll remember this inside, lol. I kinda wanted a surprise when they open it.

I stamped my image on watercolor paper and embossed with white embossing powder. I then pulled out my new Avery Elle liquid watercolors. I LOVE them! So, I painted this in several layers, building up the color saturation. I then went around the entire floral with pale blue for some sky.

I then created the card base per Jennifer's instructions. It's easy! I'll link to her post for you to see.

See the box style at the top? It folds up just fine, but it really does look like a shadow box! It's fun, and a change of pace to a regular card. Perfect for the recipient to leave on display for a bit. 

I covered the "box" front with some glitter paper from my stash. I stamped a sub-sentiment to go with the card front and mounted it with a bit of foam tape. Scattered around some silver gems and it's finished!

This stamp set is keeper for me! I love florals and this one is stunning!

Hollyhock Thank You

Hi my crafty friends, Cheryl here, for InkOn3.

Yippee!!! It's time for a new release from InkOn3. And it's a beautiful one, at that! 

Who doesn't love a great floral stamp? And who doesn't love hollyhocks? So, here you go!

Isn't that so pretty? And how great to have coordinating dies!!! And so many beautiful sentiments and a very pretty font. I love this set! So let me show you my first card I made using it.

I started off by picking this beautiful background I made using alcohol inks on Yupo paper. Before it was totally dry, you have these "sticky" areas. Take your foil and press it on, rubbing firmly. When you pull it off, some stays stuck and you get these bits of shiny foil left behind. It's so fun to do!

I took the hollyhock stamp and inked it up with Juicy ink and embossed with golf embossing powder. I left it just like that! Well, I brushed it all over with my Wink of Stella glitter brush marker. I think by leaving it uncolored, it works perfectly with the colorful background. 

I then took the Thank You die and cut it from gold foil cardstock and a piece of white fun foam. I cut a second one from a scrap of Yupo paper to get the green butterfly. I carefully trimmed it out and glued it in place over the gold foil one. I adhered it to another scrap of Yupo done in that pretty aqua green color. 

To assemble the card, I added the hollyhock using foam tape. I added foam tape just to the sides of the aqua strip and used liquid glue where it would go over the hollyhock. I then pulled out some clear  acrylic bubbles and scattered a few around. I love how they look like water droplets. I added the entire panel to the front of an A2 card base of heavy weight cardstock. 

And that's it. I think it came out so nice and I love the colors! I love the simplicity of the gold embossed hollyhock. It just works for this card.

Hey there, crafty friends! Welcome to my blog and a new project for InkOn3 Design Team.

I pulled out my notebook of card sketches because I had no ideas. I love that I have a resource to go to when I'm stuck, lol. So anyway, this is what I came up with.

I started by creating a watercolor background of pinks, yellows, and orange. Then I picked the areas I liked best for my florals. I stamped in InkOn3's Juicy ink and embossed with white embossing powder. Fussy cut them out and set aside.

I then pulled out some dies from my stash. I chose a scalloped oval and a regular oval from Spellbinders. The pink scalloped layer is cut from glitter paper and the top layer is from white.

I then chose some fun and bright patterned papers and created the strip on the left. The watercolor look paper is from a Lawn Fawn paper pad. I tied a ribbon on the strip and after adhering down the watercolor piece, I added the strip with foam tape.

I then added the oval piece with foam tape on the right side and liquid glue on the left. I added the flowers with foam taped as well. I tucked the leaves in place and glued down with liquid glue.

After cutting some banner strips, I stamped my sentiment with InkOn3 Blackout ink. I love how black and crisp this ink stamps! I also added a banner strip of the same glitter paper and added with foam tape. I picked out some confetti sequins by Studio Katia and scattered a few around.

So, there you have it. A fun Spring/Summer card. If you ever find yourself stuck, look for some sketches that might help you out. It does me! Here's the products I used.

Feel Beautiful Today

Hey there, thanks for coming!

I have been practicing my water coloring these days. I struggle, but I love it, so I keep pressing on. I tend to wanna control things and you can't with water. Well, maybe a little, but not much! I used my Colorburst powders to paint this. VERY potent stuff, lol. I put them into empty watercolor pots, like the old "paint by number" we used to get as kids. Then just enough water to make it a liquid.

I stamped and embossed with white embossing powder. This makes it easier for me, as the embossing holds the water in its own section. I add clean water to the image, drop in some of the color, and use another clean brush to pull it out. I did the entire image this way. Then I went back and did it again, using more color and less water, to get it more intense towards the petal centers. I kept at it till I was happy with how it looked. I let them dry thoroughly and then cut out with coordinating dies. 

I used a full cover die plate from my stash but instead of cutting it, I dry embossed it. I applied the entire piece to the front of an A2 sized card base. I then laid out where I wanted the flowers to be. I used foam tape under the flowers to adhere. I tucked in the leaves and added the same way.

I grabbed to different Martha Stewart butterfly punches I have and punched them from gold foil cardstock. I curled the wings a tiny bit and added tiny pearls to the bodies. Used strong liquid adhesive to glue down.

I stamped the sentiment using Juicy ink from Ink On 3 and embossed with Raven embossing powder from Brutus Monroe. I backed it with the same gold foil cardstock and mounted in place.

Finally, I added only three little black crystals from Studio Katia.

I am really happy with how this one turned out! The white embossing powder really pops with the bright orange! And the green leaves, the same. And the tiny bits of black crystals and the sentiment really stand out nicely.

Heartfelt Hello

Playing with some new Altenew products today. I love the new mega word dies! Huge!!! Lol, but it's fun to be able to use something this big and not have to think a lot about what to do. Makes for some quick card making.

So...I have two pads of super fun glitter paper. The kind where the glitter doesn't come off at all! Almost like it's in some sort of a plastic coating or something. I'm sure you've see it, it's everywhere now. I think I got mine at Hobby Lobby. One pad is all silver, blacks, and golds. Gorgeous! The other pad is super bright jewel tones. And fun patterns, I might add.

 I picked out a stripe of silver and light gray. A nice basic pattern for the background. I cut it with a stitched rectangle die. Then I chose another pattern in much darker gray and a bolder print. I cut the mega hello from both pieces. Remove the word from each. Then I took the stripe piece and glued to the front of an A2 card base. I nestled the die cut into the striped piece. Fits in like a puzzle!

I then stamped the sub sentiment onto dark gray cardstock and embossed with silver embossing powder. I added a piece of foam tape on the right edge and glued the left edge right down on the card front. It needed a pop of color, so I went through my crystals...I'm addicted to these...and chose a bright torquoise color and glued them down.

Hi guys!
I have another card using products for the newest InkOn3 release, April 2018. Two super cute and fun stamp sets and coordinating dies for each! Yay for dies!!! And...they are cut apart for you and come on a magnetic sheet. How great is that?

So, for today, I used the Platy-rific Pondies stamp set and the alpha dies from the past release. Let's see what I came up with.

So, here's the thing...I have two grand babies graduating from K this year!!! How can this be happening already? Time goes so fast! Anyway, I did this one for Aleida. I die cut the letters and colored them with bright pink Spectrum Noir alcohol markers. As I did with the duck and the balloons. I brushed over them with my glitter brush from Nuvo. So sparkly and pretty!

I started by taking the small images in the stamp set, arranged them on an acrylic block and stamped them using Juicy ink. I embossed with white embossing powder. I did this until I filled the entire background piece. It's an A2 size card.

I pulled out some dies from Spellbinders and layered a piece of white over the bright pink scalloped circle. I then set about to arrange the duck and the balloons. I used foam tape to adhere. I taped some twine to the backs of the balloons first and tie a bow to group them together, added a dot of liquid glue to hold in place.

I cut a tiny slit under the ducks wing to tuck in the diploma. Added the cap with foam tape as well. 

I then took all the die cut letters and arranged around the circle and glued down with liquid glue. 

Picked out some pretty pink crystals and glued them around two sides. Pulled out a white gel pen and added a few dots here and there. And that finished up this card.

Critter Pile Up

Hi Crafters!

I have a card for you today using one of the new stamp sets and a couple of older ones. Hang with me, this could be a bit lengthy but I need to explain the process.

If you've never done and stamp masking, you can learn something new here. I love the look but I hate cutting masks, so I don't do it much. However, I have a Brother Scan n Cut machine and use it all the time to cut my stamped images. But it would always tear up my masking paper. I had to find a better way. So I did! I buy the full sticky back PostIt Notes. I pulled off two, stamped my images on them, and then stuck them onto heavy weight cardstock. A scrap big enough would be fine. I then put that onto the cutting mat. Scanned them and cut with my machine. It worked perfect! Cut through the two PostIt Notes but not the heavy cardstock. It just scored into it a bit. This way you have two of each, ready to use. And you could pull off three, maybe, and it still cut through all. Or you'd have to adjust blade depth. With two and the cardstock, I didn't have to adjust my settings at all.

Here's the stamp sets I used.

Now, when stamping and masking images, you need to stamp what you want in front, first! Apply your mask, and stamp the next. And so forth. You'll understand better from seeing my photo as I explain.

So, I started at the top and worked down. I stamped the baby bear first, applied the mask, and aligned the beaver so the top of his head barely went over the image above. But just a little bit! And stamped it, then applied his mask, and aligned the baby seal and penguin, and stamped. Didn't stamp over them, so no mask needed. Apply the mask to the beaver and line up the larger bear just barely over the bottom of the beaver, and stamp. Apply the mask to the bear, align the duck, and stamp. 

Before removing any masks, stamp the bits of grass.

The moment of truth....pull off your masks and see what you have! It's the best part!!! Now, I did have a couple with not such great placement. But it is so worth it to stamp again until you get the look you want. The payoff is huge! I love it, so fun!!!

If you search YouTube for masking stamped images, you'll find many tutorials. It's not difficult, you just need to understand the process of stamping front to back and masking to get the look of an image in front of another.

I stamped a couple heart balloons and used a straight edge to draw in the strings to the ducks wing. 

I pulled out my Prismacolor colored pencils and colored in the critters. I used Gamsol, odorless mineral spirits, and blending stumps to blend out the pencil. To add a bit of "texture" to the animals, I pulled a couple alcohol markers and made tiny dots on the darker areas of the coloring. I like the interest it adds. 

I also added a bit of white gel pen dots for a cuteness factor and brushed on some glitter brush over the balloons and the bow tie. I got out my google eyes and picked sizes that looked best and stuck down. Who doesn't love google eyes?!?!?!

I stamped the sentiment and trimmed it out. I rubbed some brown ink over the edges and used a tiny bit of foam tape, positioned in place, and stuck down. It didn't show up good enough until I rubbed the edges with the brown ink since it is the same craft paper. I used Neenah Desert Storm. 

Beautiful Day...

 it's time for the new release from InkOn3! So excited about these sets. One is brand new and one is a remake and now has coordinating dies! Actually, they both have dies. How exciting is that! And...no more cutting them apart!!! And...they come on a magnetic sheet. It's the best of everything, right?

So, let's get to the card I made for today. 

This pansy stamp set has always been one of my favorites! So many images to color and play with and I adore the sentiments and the fonts Fleurette used. I love it! So, let's see how I used them.

I started out by stamping with Juicy ink and embossing with platinum embossing powder. I then picked out some Distress Inks and watercolored in all the flowers and the leaves. I then cut them out using the dies. 

I had a die from Simon Says Stamp that cuts this beautiful frame of stems and leaves. I used a pale violet paper from a Lawn Fawn pad. It matched the flowers perfectly! I then chose a soft blue from the same pad for the sky background. I attached it with fun foam to the front of an A2 size card base. 

I then set about to arrange the flowers into and onto the front. Some with liquid glue and some on foam squares. I stamped and embossed the sentiment using the same power and positioned on on the card front. I went through my stash of bling and found a nice purple-ish color that looked nice with the flowers. I believe these are from Studio Katia.

You're a Gem...

I have another card to share from the new release over at InkOn3. These new products are so darn cute and so fun to play with! I know you're gonna love them as well. So, let's get started.

So, lets get to my project for today. I knew when I saw this release I wanted to make a slider card. I mean, come on, these guys are just adorable! So I chose the dragons with their noses pointed down a bit and stamped them out using our Blackout ink. This is great ink! Very black, dries VERY fast, doesn't smear and doesn't stain! I then colored them using my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.

I cut a front panel of white card stock and used a stencil from my stash and lightly inked on some pale blue ink. I did a second one the same so when I die cut the slider channel it looked the same below. I used a die from Ellen Hutson to cut my channel. I then positioned the two slider elements from MFT in the channel, added a tiny scrap of cardstock above and below the sliders, and glued using Glossy Accents, and then glued the dragon to the top of that. You have to add the bits of cardstock or the slider elements would fall right out of the channel, as they are smaller. That cardstock holds them from just falling out. 

I then stamped out several of the gems and colored them in gem colors, lol. I cut them out, brushed some sparkle pen over the tops, and coated in Glossy Accents so they looked more real. I "piled" them up using foam tape so it looks like the dragon is diving right in! 

I then positioned the other dragon as if he's curious about what's going on, and used foam tape to  adhere in place. 

I stamped the sentiment into a banner end and added some glitter paper to ground it a bit. I used that same glitter paper to back the front panel. It's a pad I found at Hobby Lobby, I believe.  I added the sentiment with foam tape as well. 

I wanted some "gems" to scatter around but didn't have colors I wanted. So, I pulled out the crystal clear ones and stuck several to a piece of tape to hold in place. I then pulled out alcohol markers in the colors I wanted and colored them. Left them to dry for just a bit. A cool trick if you ever need to know! Works great. 

How fun is this card? He slides right down into a pile of brightly colored gems! And his buddy is checking it all out, lol. I scattered the gems around and glued in place using my Art Glitter Glue. I love that adhesive! I added the glitter paper to the back of the front panel and added the entire piece to an A2 sized card base. I use Neenah 110 pound cardstock. It's nice and heavy. 

So there you have it! What do you think? Cute, huh! It's so fun making him slide up and down. It's one of those style cards that the recipient will get a big smile from. My fellow DT sister, Ilda, is a genius at these kind of cards. She's such an inspiration to me! Check her out, I Love Doing All Things Crafty, is her blog.

To finish this off, I added Glossy Accents to their eyes, and set aside to completely dry.

Welcome to my blog and to the newest release from InkOn3. And it's a great one! Check this out!!!

Fleurette has outdone herself with this one. AND...there are now dies! How cool is that? So we have Magic Dragons and the coordinating dies and we have Phat Alphanumeric stamp set and Phat Alphanumeric dies. These are so fun to play with. Check out the bundle that's available as of this posting. 

So, let's get on to the card I made for today. I kept it simple for this one, but Monday I'll have a super fun card so you need to come back then and check it out.

I LOVE these little dragons and it was hard to choose which to play with. But, I ended up with the one that's flying. 

I started out by stamping this little guy with our Blackout ink. This ink is amazing! It's super black, very crisp, works with any coloring medium, and it dries almost immediately and doesn't smear! Plus, it doesn't stain your stamp either. I then colored him using my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers. I cut him out using my Scan n Cut, as I don't have the dies yet. I then pulled out some google eyes that fit and stuck them on. 

I went on to stamp my sentiment on vellum using our Juicy ink. I embossed using white embossing powder and trimmed it to a narrow strip. 

I pulled out some patterned paper from my stash. This is from Lawn Fawn. I adore their papers! I cut this using their 4 bar sized rectangle dies. It makes for a very nice little note size card. I like making this size when I'm using a smaller image or when keeping the card very clean and simple.

I wrapped the sentiment strip around the front panel and taped on the back side. Vellum is hard to hide adhesive and this works great.

Now, I love cards that are a bit interactive. They are so fun! So, on the backside of this little guy, I stuck on a Mini Action Wobbler. These are so fun and with a flick of your finger, he wobbles as if he's about to take off and fly! It's really fun, and hard to stop playing with it, lol. 

I took this front panel and using tape runner, I added it to the 4 bar card base. 

It measures 3 1/2 x 4 7/8.

I pulled out some gems to match and scattered a few around. They add such fun sparkle! I believe these are from Studio Katia.

Peep Peep Peep...

Hi crafty friends! 

I have a card today showcasing the new release from InkOn3. Soooo cute! Check out these images!!! Aren't they so cute?

So anyway, here's what I did with some of these images.

I first went through and stamped all my images. I'm on a colored pencil kick right now, so I colored these with my Prismacolors. I'm not happy with them right now...they keep breaking! Gonna try the heating pad trick to see if that helps. Anyway...ordered a couple new and different brands, so stay tuned for my thoughts on them. I used Gamsol odorless mineral spirits to blend the pencil out.

I used my Scan n Cut to cut out all the images. LOVE that machine! I cut a half inch of the right side of the card front. I attached a piece of patterned paper to the front and to the right side of the inside of the card. It shows when the card is closed.

I then took my chicks and placed them how I wanted, and a bit off that edge. I attached with foam tape. 

I then stamped my sentiment and cut with a banner die in my stash. I stamped out the Peep Peep Peep in purple and Happy Easter in black. I added it with foam tape as well. Then I told the banner and had it go from the sentiment to the chicks hand, as thought she's holding it. Also added with foam tape.

I added a bit of bling and google eyes to the chicks. Who doesn't love google eyes? I also used my my sparkle brush and colored over bits of the images to add sparkle. Also a few white dots of gel pen.
